Parenting for Life: Class 2 – The Parent’s Roles

This session focuses on the parent’s role as a disciplinarian and what biblical discipline looks like. Topics include:

• Unbiblical Discipline — examining the dangers of excessive control, anger, neglect, or inconsistent correction.

• Biblical Discipline — shaping children with loving correction that aims for wisdom, godliness, and a heart responsive to Christ.

• Wise Rules — establishing age-appropriate, reasonable, and clear boundaries that provide order, security, and opportunities for growth.

• Rewards and Consequences — understanding the biblical principle of cause and effect, and how consistent discipline trains children to obey both parents and God.

Class 2 highlights that true discipline is not about punishment for convenience, but about loving guidance that exposes the need for a Savior and directs children toward obedience and wisdom.
