Pastor / Full-Time

Main Areas of Focus: Shepherding/Teaching/Leading, Sunday Worship, Discipleship, Band, Music

Location: Franklin, TN.

Position Summary

The Worship Pastor at Stonebridge Bible Church will lead and shape the church’s musical worship culture with theological depth, artistic excellence, and pastoral heart. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Sunday worship experience, discipling worship team members, developing band and vocal talent, and curating (and occasionally writing) music that is biblically faithful and emotionally engaging. The Worship Pastor will foster a worship culture that is Christ-exalting, Spirit-led, and rooted in truth.

Key Roles

Although specific in function, the chief end of this position is to be a faithful pastor to the people of Stonebridge—leading, loving, teaching, and caring for adults in every season of life. The pastor must bring the presence of Christ into every relationship and responsibility and help the people of God mature into the image of Christ through Word, Spirit, and community.

Specifically, the Worship Pastor will be responsible for:

#1: Lead, Shepherd, & Align

Lead, Shepherd, and Align the church staff and ministry teams under your area of ministry, providing spiritual guidance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring alignment with the church’s vision.

  • Provide clear direction and vision to all team members.

  • Provide necessary tools for team members to succeed (resources, training, technology, people, time, and attention).

  • Ensure hyper clarity on team members' functions, roles, and expectations.

  • Ensure teams have quarterly goals to align with the larger ministry objectives.

  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and often.

  • Set up proper meeting rhythms to help team members succeed in their roles.

  • Ensure team alignment to Core Values.

  • Hold quarterly coaching check-ins with each direct report to provide feedback and help team members improve their competency.

  • Provide positive and negative feedback quickly (24 hours).

  • Criticize in private, praise in public.

  • Willingness and ability to hire, terminate, review, reward, and recognize team members.

#2: Sunday Worship

Design and lead Sunday worship gatherings that are theologically sound, spiritually vibrant, and well-executed.

  • Plan and lead engaging, Christ-centered worship sets for Sunday services in partnership with the Lead Pastor.

  • Select songs that are theologically rich, singable, and relevant to the theme of the service.

  • Coordinate with production, tech, and teaching teams to ensure seamless worship experiences.

  • Create service orders, setlists, and rehearsal schedules in a timely and organized manner.

  • Provide leadership and spiritual oversight during Sunday gatherings—on and off the platform.

  • Evaluate and improve service flow, transitions, and team engagement.

#3: Worship Discipleship

Disciple worship team members in their spiritual walk, character, and understanding of biblical worship.

  • Lead regular devotionals, prayer, and spiritual formation times for worship teams.

  • Model and teach a heart of worship that goes beyond performance or emotion—anchored in truth and love for God.

  • Mentor worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists in both character and craft.

  • Ensure that all team members understand and embody the church’s theology of worship.

  • Create intentional pathways for leadership development within the worship ministry.

#4: Band Development

Recruit, train, and develop a high-functioning team of instrumentalists and vocalists who serve with excellence and humility.

  • Identify and invite new talent into the ministry through auditions, conversations, and referrals.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and feedback for musicians and vocalists.

  • Organize rehearsals that are efficient, spiritually enriching, and technically effective.

  • Cultivate a culture of musical excellence, preparation, and servant-heartedness.

  • Assess individual strengths and chemistry to build cohesive teams that work well musically and relationally.

  • Mix and match band members strategically to ensure stylistic fit, musical balance, and consistent team dynamics.

  • Implement tools and systems (e.g., Planning Center, charts, tracks) that support team readiness and excellence.

#5: Music (Curate, Create, Cultivate)

Ensure that the music sung and created at Stonebridge is biblically faithful, spiritually rich, and worthy of God’s praise.

  • Curate a song library that reflects theological integrity, doctrinal clarity, and musical quality.

  • Evaluate and rotate songs based on congregational engagement, lyrical strength, and thematic relevance.

  • Collaborate with others to write and arrange original music that serves the church’s voice and mission.

  • Encourage the development of original songs, arrangements, and recordings as part of the church’s creative output.

  • Guard the church’s worship culture from performance-centered or doctrinally weak trends by maintaining a high bar for reverence, truth, and excellence.

Culture Alignment

Chemistry is key in any team. We hire, empower, evaluate, and partner with…

  1. Owners, not Managers. Leaders and self-starters who care about it all.

  2. Joyful Teammates (attitude is everything…) who promote unity and serve gratefully because they know it is NOT about them but HIM and US.

  3. Proactive and Transparent Partners (Not passive/aggressive or political but relationally honest).

  4. Respectful Leaders (how they treat those they lead) and Humble Followers (how they treat those who lead them).

  5. Hungry Learners and Mature Doers. They eagerly seek growth and wisdom, then apply it with consistency, integrity, and follow-through.

  6. Disciples and Disciplers. They have a personal daily walk with the Master, and they influence others to do the same…at home (Job ONE) and at Stonebridge (DNA and Core Priority).

  7. Givers, not Getters. With a “Can do” spirit of, “If I can, I will”.
